＜今回は、京都へ久々のクラシックコンサートを見に行きましたので、それについて英語／日本語で日記を書いてみました。英語学習者の参考になれば幸いです。＞

How are you? It’s been freezing cold recently, so be careful not to catch a cold!

Today, I’m gonna talk about the classical music concert where I went on November 23rd.

YES! I went to a classical music concert again on November 23rd, the national holiday called Labor Thanksgiving Day!＾▽＾／ As I said before, there is a student who is a professional pianist in my English school. And she gave me some tickets for the classical music concert!（≧▽≦） I really appreciate it☆ So I asked a former colleague to the concert and went to a big hall in Sakyo-ward, Kyoto, which is called Rohm Theater Kyoto. It is near Heian-jingu Shrine. It is about a 10 minute walk from Jingumarutamachi station of Keihan line. I went to Kyoto for the first time in months and I thought again that Kyoto was a really good city.＾▽＾ The city is very tasteful. Before the concert began, we walked around the city to have lunch. There were a lot of foreigners in the city.（○＾０＾○） We found an expensive(?) Japanese restaurant that looked so good and had lunch there. The dishes served there were really tasty!

When we got out of the restaurant, there was a foreign man out there worrying about whether to go into the restaurant or not. This is my chance to show off!!! I told him in English that this restaurant was really good and it was worth a try. The man said in Japanese, “Arigatou gozaimasu. kangaetemimasu.(Thank you so much. I’ll think about it.)” I wondered which is a foreigner. I was too much puzzled.（＾＿＾；） But it was a good opportunity to use English!:) I’m so happy to use English in such a situation!（＾▽＾） Once I see a foreigner, I can’t help talking to him/her…
After lunch, finally it’s time for the classical music concert! Surprisingly, the hall was full of people! We took seats on the second floor of the hall.

I don’t like classical music very much, but the classical music performed live in such a place is so awesome. I felt myself attracted by the classical music before I knew it. And the pianist came on stage and played a song called “Waltz of the Flowers” from “the Nutcracker”. Some ballet dancers came on stage and danced to the music. The pianist looked very different than usual, and I was impressed by how she played the piano!（゜□゜；） The concert lasted about two and a half hours and after that, we went to Heian-jingu Shrine and Kodai-ji Temple, feeling excited after the concert. At Heian-jingu Shrine, there were not so many people as we expected. However, it was really crowded at Kodai-ji Temple and we couldn’t go into the temple after all. I know why. It was a national holiday and during the fall foliage season. There is no doubt about it. We wanted to see the Autumn leaves lit up there, but we gave up.（￣▽￣；） Anyway, the classical music concert was really awesome and the first sightseeing in Kyoto in quite a while was so perfect!＼（＾０＾）／

さて、１１月２３日（水）勤労感謝の日にまたまたクラシックコンサートに行ってきました！＾▽＾／　以前にも話しましたが、こちらの英語教室に通っている生徒さんでプロのピアニストの方がいてます。その方からクラシックコンサートのチケットをいただきました！（≧▽≦）本当にありがたいです☆　なので以前働いていた会社の先輩誘って、京都市左京区にある「ロームシアター京都」という大きなホールまで行ってきました。そこは平安神宮のすぐ近くにあります。京阪の神宮丸太町駅降りて歩いて１０分ぐらいのところです。久々に京都に行きましたが、やはり京都はいいですね＾▽＾　なんか風情があります。そのコンサートが始まる前に昼食を食べようと街中を歩きました。外国人の方もかなりたくさんいました（○＾０＾○）　いい感じの高級(？)和食店を見つけ、そこで昼食をとりました。

店を出ると外国人の男性が立っていて、その店に入るかどうかを悩んでいました。ここは私の出番！！！　軽く英語で『この和食料理屋さんすごく良かったですよ。オススメですよ。』と言ってあげました。すると男性は日本語で『ありがとうございます。考えてみます。』と。。。　どっちが外国人なんだと一瞬わけがわからなくなりました（＾＿＾；）しかし英語を使える良い機会でした！（嬉）こんなときに英語が話せるのは嬉しいもんですね！（＾▽＾）　外国人を見つけると喋りかけたくてしかたがない衝動に駆られる。。。　
さてさて、昼食後はいよいよクラシックコンサート！　驚いたことにホールが大勢のお客さんでいっぱい！私たちはホールの２階席で見ました。クラシックはあまり好きな音楽のジャンルではないのですが、やはりあのような場所で生で聴くとシビれますねぇ～。いつの間にかクラシック曲に魅了されていくのが自分でも感じます。そしてそのピアニストの方も出てきて、私が知ってる曲でいうと「くるみ割り人形」の『花のワルツ』という曲を弾いていました。そのピアノの前ではバレエの踊り子さんたちが出てきて曲に合わせて踊っていました。普段こちらの教室で英語を習っている姿とは別人のように凄い手さばきでピアノを弾いています！（゜□゜；）感動しますねぇ。２時間半近くコンサートが続き、クラシックの余韻に浸りながら私たちは平安神宮、高台寺に行きました。平安神宮は人がそこまで多くはなかったのですが、高台寺がメチャ混みで結局、中には入れませんでした。そりゃそうですよね、祝日でしかも紅葉シーズンですから。私たちもライトアップされた紅葉を見たかったのですが諦めました（￣▽￣；）とにかくクラシックコンサートも良かったですし、久々の京都観光も最高でしたぁ！＼（＾０＾）／
これも先輩↓↓↓　クラシックにも京都にも似合わない威圧感。。。（○＿○；）
